The Assurance Medical Underwriting Society (AMUS) is committed to respecting your privacy. The

Who we are
The Assurance Medical Underwriting Society (AMUS) is a life insurance industry organisation whose
aim is to provide thought leadership in our ever changing market. At the same time we provide an
educational and social environment to increase knowledge amongst medical underwriters and
insurance doctors.
Membership to the society is free and open to:
 Those involved with Life, annuity and disability insurance risk management.
 Medical professionals with an interest in life, annuity and disability insurance.
 Those providing the industry with risk management services.

This statement covers how we treat any personal information that we collect and receive either
from our website or as part of our broader operating processes.
We do not sell or pass on any personal information and we only use any information shared with us
for notification of AMUS events, delegate lists and name badges.
This statement tells you what information we collect, the steps we take to protect and secure it, how
we use and share information, and finally, how you can contact us with questions or concerns.
Information you give us
The personal data or personal information we collect about you is made up of the information you
provide when you use our site to register for events, view content on our site, and when you report
a problem with our site and from which you can be identified during our communications with you.

when you book to attend an event or when you contact us via the website.

or colleague who books you a place to attend an event.

your personal data in the following ways:
 To register your attendance at an AMUS event
 Provision of a name badge at an AMUS event you attend
 List of delegates used at registration at an AMUS event (providing consent is given)
 To communicate AMUS event information to you (programme information & updates,
future event information)

Name badges shall be produced and provided at AMUS events for all attendees for legitimate
security purposes.
International transfers of your personal data
We will not transfer your personal data, or process this outside of the European Economic Area
(EEA)
Your data is maintained on storage servers based in the UK.
Data retention

We will retain your personal data in accordance with data protection law and never retain your
personal data for longer than is necessary.
Your rights
You may contact the AMUS at any time to;
 request that we provide you with a copy of the personal data which we hold about you;
 request that we update any of your personal data which are inaccurate or incomplete;
 request that we delete any of your personal data which we are holding.
Withdrawing your consent
You may change your mind and withdraw your consent at any time where we process your personal

data. We keep your personal data secure by implementing policies, procedures and access controls
so that only authorised members of the AMUS committee can access your personal data. We protect
our information technology systems with firewalls and anti-virus and anti-malware software and

We use cookies and web beacons on our website. Cookies and web beacons allow us and third
parties to distinguish you from other users of the website.
